THE UNEXPECTED OUTCOME OF ASSEMBLY ELECTION in UTTAR PRADESH ON 6TH OF MARCH 2012 .
For the congress and BJP it has been a very demoralising and unexpected outcome. All ;media, political analysts, and political parties in this country were dismayed. Shri Rahul Gandhi blew the bugle of hectic campaign for the first time after the debacle of old congress with the Babri Mosque demolition at Ayodhya. This party had a national character .All communities had their representations in the post Independence scenario. Muslim voters severed their relations from congress and the BJP. The abuse of their self esteem and national honour dipped to its lowest during these years. “Babar ki aulado bharat chhoro ,”was the slogan in each and every lanes and by lanes of this state in1992.The crusade led by Advani raised the level of esteem of Muslims to a greater height who otherwise were hardly connected with the historicity of this mosque. They found it a symbol of do or die to protect their self esteem. The 6th of December 1992 became an event of assassination of their esteem and honour. The BJP and the congress were responsible for the burglary of their honour. 18 years period passed is too less to heal their wounds.
The first criminal in their is BJP followed by congress. One can notice of late some sense of forgiveness among few section of Muslim society towards the congress. No one could have found better acceptance than one from Gandhi Family. This process may go à long way. BJP ,it seems ,cannot be pardoned. They are politically unwise to revive the agenda of the construction of Ram Temple ( a triumph card)resulting in to debacle of the their own nominee from Ayodhya and getting fifty seats. Naqui and Shah Nawaz could not bring cheers to the party.
The congress got 15 percent mandate .Who were these voters who constituted 15%.I leave it to you to investigate. It is an era of establishing ones community hegemony in the name of this electoral process. Maya did it and left her last evidence to be recorded by the historians for her achievements ( erecting the statues on the expense of the public exchequer). It was perhaps the end of her scheduled cast hegemony era (26% vote gain ,77 seats ).This number cannot provide her the throne.
Yadavas have an eagle eye to restore their hegemony. The government servants know its manipulation by employing and deploying officers of their cast in places of powers during their rule. Maya did what is unknown to many .She paid them in the same coins and yadavas were reduced to their old family business. This time many unseen will happen. Yadavas have voted neither the congress nor the BJP. They voted to their god father.
The Muslims saw their plights in Bahennji regime. They had seen their plight in the regime of Mulayam. Once again they opted him by electing comparatively lesser evil. Brahmins saw their plight when their breeds were found touching the feet ( an unpardonable act) of Bahenji. They are struggling for establishing their lost ground. They are helpless to oust their opponents from becoming rulers because of Mandal commission. Gautama Buddha had to leave India on account of them. But now it is not possible. Partly they voted in favour of BJP and partly to the congress. They are part of the 15%.
Now Rajputs don’t see eye to eye to Brahmins etc..They are part of 15% and 15% of BJP and the congress electorate. Then there is an ambivalent electorate in UP, they are the one who go with all .It is an insignificant contribution.
Rahul Gandhi campaigned extensively and exhaustively for his party. This made all other parties terrified of his whirlwind tours. This made the Uttar Pradesh election a do or die contest. Only he awakened the sleeping segments of politicians and paid the price. He convinced the electorate that Maya had to go. Maya has gone out but Mulayam has come in. M.Y combine was a historical but natural alliance to rout her and other parties in fray.
He offered good words of advices to the masses that is what a guru (teacher )can do . Followers very less of course but a teacher (messenger) is never defeated. Electorates will have to pay heavy price in future if unprincipled cast based politics is played.
What was rampant in this election, was talk of the predetermined decision to cast vote in favour of their blood group irrespective of their party affiliations. In Pratap Garh, the Muslims were bent upon casting their votes in favour of Muslim candidates .They did it. They were not prepared to listen anything else. They lost and in the melee the opponents won. This tendency will further alien people against them.
